Ari Friedman is a queer, bicultural writer, director and clown who grew up in an Ultra-Orthodox Jewish-Guatemalan home, only to turn around at 25 and get her hand tattooed like a schmuck. She recently co-wrote the penultimate episode of STAR TREK: DISCOVERY. Previously, she was the writers’ assistant on STAR TREK: DISCOVERY, as well as on THE COOL KIDS on FOX, and before that was the creative assistant to multi-hyphenate Lake Bell, writer, star, director and executive producer of BLESS THIS MESS. Currently assisting Zac Efron and developing a one woman clown show she will debut later this year, Ari’s true claim to fame is getting kicked out of a religious seminary in Israel at the ripe age of 19.
